Decomposing body of baby found in Missouri woods

Kansas City news, Missouri news.

The decomposing remains of a baby were discovered in a wooded area in Kansas City Saturday prompting an immediate investigation.

Police responded to the scene near the intersection of East 41st and Pitman Road at around 8 p.m. and met with the tipster who found the body and made the 911 call.

The person helped officers find the remains and it was determined that the baby was dead for some time.

    “It's hard not, you know, not knowing the full story is hard. I know every one of these investigators wants to know what happened and what led to this, whatever the explanation is. We pray that someone didn't intentionally hurt this baby,” Sgt. Jake Becchina said.
