Manhunt underway in Philadelphia after fatal shooting on 14-year-old boy on SEPTA train station

Authorities in West Philadelphia have released pictures of a suspect they accused of fatally shooting a 14-year-old boy at a SEPTA platform on Saturday.

Police said that the boy was shot in the arm and chest shortly after 2 p.m. at the train station located at 52nd and Market.

The boy succumbed to his injuries at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center; the suspect fled the scene with four other males, including juveniles.

  • Police said that the suspect shot the boy with a semi-automatic gun but no weapons were recovered at the scene.

    The incident is the third shooting to occur at the SEPTA station in less than two months.

    “Particularly, more and more people going right for their guns when they don't like something they hear, or they feel disrespected,” SEPTA CEO Leslie Richards commented.
