NC man busted at traffic stop after dismembered woman's body found surrounded by crosses

A North Carolina woman was killed and dismembered in a gruesome scene on Easter Sunday and police said that they have a suspect in custody.

Miguel Gonzales Rosales, 36, was charged with first-degree murder, theft of a motor vehicle, and destruction of remains in connection with the slaying of Laura Miller, 35.

The victim's brother discovered her body surrounded by three crosses and encircled with salt inside her home near the 900 block of Southwood Oaks Lane.

  • Police said that Miller was viciously mutilated with her tongue removed and left on her kitchen table and human tissue “scattered” throughout the home.

    Her face and head were so badly beaten “to the point it was unrecognizable.”

    “As a result of their initial investigation, officers identified a suspect, Miguel Gonzalez Rosales, and issued a Be on the Lookout bulletin,” the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

    “A short time later, officers located the suspect and initiated a traffic stop. Mr. Rosales was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Uptown to speak with homicide detectives.”
