Substitute teacher fired from job at SC school after threatening to kill students

A South Carolina substitute teacher was fired from her job after she allegedly threatened to kill fifth-graders on Thursday, authorities said.

The unidentified female teacher is being investigated for making threats to students at White Knowll Elementary School in West Columbia.

The teacher was also banned from all Lexington School District One after she menaced children telling them that she would grab them by the neck and kill them.

School officials said that the teacher quickly grabbed her belonging and left the school before the police arrived.

  • “Administrators and school counselors met with the students to help calm them down and reassure them that they were safe,” the school district said in a statement to parents.

    “Parents of students who were in the class received personal phone calls shortly after the incident occurred.”

    The grandmother of one of the fifth-grade students said that the teacher cursed at the students and made racial remarks.

    “My grandson couldn't even go to school today because he was so upset,” she said.
