Oklahoma City news, Oklahoma news.

Two toddlers died last week after drowning in their family home's backyard pool, authorities said.

Oklahoma City Fire battalion chief Scott Douglas said that 18-month-old Locklyn and Loreli Callazzo died on March 16 and that first responders couldn't revive them after their hearts stopped beating.

“The mother explained she was homeschooling an older child while the younger children were playing in the living room,” Douglas said.

Douglas added that the family did not have a fence around the pool that was in “open access.”

The twins' family is grieving their shocking death. Their godmother, Dawn Lemon, described Locklyn and Loreli as “inseparable.”

“They didn't want separate chairs. They wanted to sleep together. You never saw one without the other,” she said.
