Authorities in Fort Pierce, Florida arrested a 22-year-old man Wednesday after he confessed to brutally killing his roommate and burying the body near his shed.
Bryan Marquez was charged with first-degree murder after a human foot was spotted sticking out of the ground near the shed where he had been living.
Marquez told investigators Monday that he killed his roommate, only identified as “Guanajuato”, because he threw a plate of food at him and “disrespected” him.
The suspect added that he got intoxicated later on the night and returned home to attack Guanajuato striking him in the face and ribs before shoving dirt and gravel into the man's mouth.
When Guanajuato stopped breathing, Marquez grabbed his feet and dragged him to the yard where he buried him in an 18-inch deep shallow grave.
Both victim and suspect were illegal immigrants with Marquez previously detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and facing deportation.
