California woman, 18, fatally stabbed & run over by boyfriend; suspect arrested after perilous chase

Authorities in Rancho Cordova, California arrested a murder suspect after shooting him at the end of a perilous chase last week.

Devian Lewis, 22, was wanted over the death of his estranged girlfriend, Saraiah Acosta whom he repeatedly stabbed and ran over on February 1.

Lewis was able to elude police for days before he was identified as the suspect. The armed suspect then led California Highway Patrol troopers on a chase in Elk Grove before an officer shot him.

  • Authorities said that Lewis, who remains hospitalized, has yet to be charged.

    Accosta, 18, died at the scene of the ambush involving Lewis with whom she had a troubled relationship during the last two years. Her grieving aunt described her as the “life of the party”.

    “Everybody wanted to be around her because she was the one that danced and she lived life,” she added.
