Surry County news, North Carolina news.

A Pennsylvania boy who died earlier this month was excessively restrained and starved as part of an exorcism performed by his parents, prosecutors said.

Skyler Wilson died on January 9, four days after he suffered a seizure and stopped breathing while in his father Joseph's care.

Doctors said that the 4-year-old boy died of a lack of oxygen in the brain that was caused by the restriction.

The woman told the Surry County Department of Social Services that Jodi Wilson herself told her about the practices she learned from an unlicensed therapeutic professional.

Detectives found ankle and wrist restraints inside the couple's home, incriminating surveillance videos and photos on their phones.
