Wilmington news, Delaware news.

Asked about the second set of classified documents found in his Delaware garage, President Joe Biden insisted that the documents were not “sitting in the street” and promised to speak on the matter soon.

The remarks were made Thursday during a briefing on the economy and inflation. The President was asked by reporters about the second batch of confidential records that were discovered in the garage of his private residence in Wilmington.

“I'm gonna get a chance to speak on all of this, God-willing soon...by the way, my corvette's in a locked garage, okay? So, it's not like they're sitting in the street.”

He added: “But as I said earlier this week, people know I take classified materials seriously.”

Biden reiterated that his attorneys were “cooperating fully and completely with the Justice Department's review” launched after an initial set of classified documents was discovered in his former office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.

“They finished the review last night,” Biden said. “They discovered a small number of documents with classified markings in storage areas and filing cabinets in my home and personal library.”

The President said that the Department of Justice was immediately made aware of the findings and the documents were submitted to authorities.

“We're going to see all this unfold,” Biden said.
