A North Carolina man is accused of setting his elderly mother ablaze and burning her alive, Winston-Salem authorities said.
James Parker, 48, was arrested Monday after he burned his mother Joanna Parker at around 11 a.m. killing her inside their Lyons Street home.

The 72-year-old woman was found in flames on the porch of the home. Firefighters extinguished the fire and rushed her to a hospital where she later died.
The suspect admitted to the murder adding that he was upset with his mom when he set her ablaze. He was booked into the Forsyth County Detention Center.
