Nevada County authorities said Monday that human remains found in a submerged car near the Prosser Family Campground are “more than likely” those of a missing California teen.

16-year-old Kiely Rodni was last seen at the campground early on August 5 when around 300 juveniles and young adults gathered for a party.

For several weeks, Nevada County deputies and divers scoured the area looking for the teen initially believed to be an abduction victim.

On Sunday, an upside-down vehicle with a deceased person inside was located by a volunteer under 14 feet of water in Prosser Reservoir.

The victim’s family issued a statement thanking the community “for the love and support you have shown us in the last couple of weeks.”

“We have weathered a storm of unfathomable force, and it is purely thanks to the army of warriors, matriarchs, healers, and helpers holding us up that we continue to stand today,” the statement added.
