Days after he was gunned down inside his car in the parking lot of an LA Fitness Gym, police made the third arrest in connection with the murder of Monterey Park Police Officer Gardiel Solorio.
The 26-year-old victim was off-duty when a vehicle carrying the three alleged suspects approached his car, investigators said.
Carlos Daniel Delcid, 20, Gerardo Magallanes, 18, and a juvenile were allegedly trying to rob Solorio before Delcid repeatedly shot him.
“We’re happy to know that arrests have been made,” Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said. “There’s a lot more investigation to go on.”
Delcid was charged with murder, attempted robbery, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held without bond while awaiting his September arraignment.
