Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the killing of a 25-year-old woman near a Realization Point hiking trail late last month.

Alexis Baca’s body was discovered by the trailhead at around 10 a.m. on July 24, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

A subsequent investigation led to four suspects who had been directly involved in her murder. They were apprehended in New Mexico.

Cody Lee Hobirk, 43, was charged with second-degree murder, and Jaime Alonso Moore, 31, with first-degree murder and second-degree murder. Both face also aggravated robbery charges.

“Nobody wants to ever get that call or get that visit that your child is dead.”

Baca leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter who will now be raised by family members including the woman’s cousin and best friend Leah Pena.
