A Florida girl had reportedly walked for over one mile with critical stab wounds to seek help for a deceased 4-year-old child Thursday morning.
Police officers found the dead toddler and an unresponsive adult male in a Longwood residence both suffering stab wounds.
“The male and the 12-year-old female were transported to local hospitals due to their critical injuries,” the Longwood Police Department said.
“The incident is believed to be domestic in nature. There is no threat to the public at this time.”
Longwood Police Sergeant Derek Chenoweth added that people experiencing domestic violence should
immediately contact authorities to prevent such tragedies.
“If you know someone in a domestic situation, and they won’t speak up, speak up for them, so the situation does not escalate.”
