A father, son, and family friend’s hiking trip turned into a tragedy last week when the group got separated in the “insanely” difficult spot in Butte County, California.

On Wednesday, the body of the 14-year-old boy was found following a challenging search and rescue mission triggered by a frantic call from his dad asking for help.
