Babysitter arrested after infant dies from multiple narcotics intoxication

A Georgia woman was charged with murder over the death of a 15-month-old infant she was babysitting over the last weekend.

Investigators said that Pamala Graves, 59, was caring for the child on Saturday when the infant consumed narcotics including fentanyl and benzodiazepine.

  • The victim was rushed to a local hospital in Athens and then to Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta where she later died prompting officials to alert police.

    Toxicology results showed that the baby was exposed to fentanyl, opiates, and benzodiazepine; she was being babysat at her family home on Oak Hill Drive.

    Graves was charged with murder and possession of schedule II controlled substances.
