An Oklahoma woman is behind bars after authorities made the grisly discovery of her toddler granddaughter in a trash can Tuesday evening.
Officers were dispatched to Becky Ann Vreeland’s residence over reports of a dead child at around 7:30 and found the 3-year-old girl’s body in the trash.

Vreeland was arrested for questioning after officers noticed obvious trauma signs on the child’s body.
Police did not disclose details surrounding the child’s death but said that Vreeland was granted custody of the victim recently.
“The investigation is still ongoing and active,” the Oklahoma Police Department said adding that detectives are “allowing family members to grieve before interviewing them.”
