Mom charged after toddler, 2, wandered barefoot into streets while she changed diaper to other child

A Boomer, West Virginia mother is facing child neglect charges after her 2-year-old daughter was found wandering alone in the streets late Thursday.

The toddler, who was not wearing shoes, stepped in front of a Fayette County deputy’s cruiser as she crossed Boomer Branch Road, police said.

  • Her mother, Taylor M. Falbo, was located 10 minutes later by deputies and during the questioning, she said that she had been changing another baby’s diaper when her daughter left the home.

    The 22-year-old mother was charged with gross child neglect creating a risk of serious injury or death. She is being held at the Southern Regional Jail while awaiting court proceedings.
