Explosion at Pennsylvania house leaves 5 dead, others trapped

At least five people were killed and others remain trapped after a horrific house explosion in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

The blast that occurred at around 8:30 p.m. triggered a fire and sent debris flying from destructed home and cars.

Nearly 60 residents of the neighborhood were evacuated to safety, according to Pottstown Borough Manager Justin Keller.

    The local school district announced that classes will be suspended for Friday as many evacuees remain housed on school grounds and others receive assistance.

    “Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families,” Superintendent Stephen Rodriguez said.
