Georgia boy, accidentally shot with pellet gun by 17-year-old friend, dies after ‘severe brain damage’

A Georgia boy had passed late last month, days after he was accidentally shot with a pellet gun by his 17-year-old friend who now is facing manslaughter charges.

The shooting took place at the home of 10-year-old CJ Patton in Milledgeville on Feb. 20 when his friend Jamarius Walls fired a pellet at the victim’s head, causing “severe brain damage.”

  • CJ died three days later after his brain “showed no activity”. The pellet had reportedly entered through the right side of his temple and lodged in his brain.

    “It breaks my heart to have to say that CJ has gone home to heaven. He passed away yesterday morning around 10:30 a.m.,” a fundraiser page for the boy’s grieving mother read.

    “I know that these are some trying times, but I’m asking that we come together as a community and as a family and friends to help Robin give her baby a funeral a funeral that he deserves.”
