As Russian attacks on Ukraine rage on, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a Thursday televised address that despite being Russia’s number one target, he has no plans to leave the country.
“The enemy marked me as target number one, and my family as target number two,” Zelenskyy said according to a Belarus-based reporter.
“I stay in the capital, I stay with my people. During the day, I held dozens of international talks, directly managed our country. And I will stay in the capital. My family is also in Ukraine. My children are also in Ukraine. My family is not traitors. they are the citizens of Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian President is currently staying in the governmental center in Kyiv. In his address, he acknowledged the international support but pointed out that his country was “left alone” to fight Russian invaders.
“Who is ready to fight us? Honestly, I do not see such,” he added.
