A California boy was charged Tuesday with murder for causing a deadly drug overdose to a 12-year-old girl in 2020.
Prosecutors said that the juvenile, a 16-year-old boy, had sold the victim and two teen boys fentanyl-laced pills in November 2020.
The “M-30” pill with the label oxycodone was ingested by the girl who shortly afterward passed out and started snoring while the three other teens filmed the incident.
“After thousands of deaths, everyone should know that fentanyl is a deadly poison,” DA Jeff Rosen said.
“These dealers are essentially handing a loaded gun to unsuspecting victims knowing that they will probably die and they don’t care,” Orange County California DA Todd Spitzer said late last year.
