A California boy was charged Tuesday with murder for causing a deadly drug overdose to a 12-year-old girl in 2020.

Prosecutors said that the juvenile, a 16-year-old boy, had sold the victim and two teen boys fentanyl-laced pills in November 2020.

“After thousands of deaths, everyone should know that fentanyl is a deadly poison,” DA Jeff Rosen said.

“These dealers are essentially handing a loaded gun to unsuspecting victims knowing that they will probably die and they don’t care,” Orange County California DA Todd Spitzer said late last year.
