Group of seniors poisoned after woman brought son’s pot brownies to card game

A South Dakota man was arrested after his mother took his pot brownies to a card game at a community center, poisoning a group of elderly Tuesday.

Michael Koranda, 46, admitted to baking the brownies with half a pound of THC butter from Colorado before he went to sleep.

  • “His mother unknowingly took the brownies to the card game where several people ate them,” the affidavit read.

    All those who consumed the 73-year-old woman’s goods were “under the influence” when police arrived following reports of a “possible poisoning.”

    Koranda, an elementary school teacher, was charged with possession of a controlled drug or substance. Experts say that pot edibles have strong effects and can easily cause paralysis.
