A Florida girl was found dead next to her unresponsive mom in a Kissimmee hotel Monday, police said.
Masiela Decaro, 4, was pronounced dead at the scene while her mom Jacinda was hospitalized in critical condition after authorities found both of them lying on their beds at the Star Island Resort.
Jacinda’s mom called the hotel staff and requested them to check on her after she didn’t show for work.
A note that read “I’m sorry” was also found at the scene. The girl’s father Jorge Ezequiel said that his daughter was a very smart girl who loved her mother.
“I wish her the best,” he said of Jacinda who fights for life at a hospital. “I just want answers. At the end of the day, I just want to know what happened.”
Osceola County Sheriff investigators suspect the incident was an attempted murder-suicide as Jacinda’s mom had mentioned the woman was in a crisis.
“There was no blunt trauma – she possibly put some type of medications together,” Sheriff Marcos Lopez added.
