A Connecticut man who wanted to avoid a court appearance to reconsider his bond by providing a fake positive Covid diagnosis had now been charged with forgery and fabricating evidence.
Junior Jumpp, 31, sent his attorney a screenshot of a fake Covid diagnosis, just before November 30, the day he was set to appear in New Britain Superior Court.
The attorney asked Judge Maureen Keegan to excuse him from the court hearing. A later investigation by the Statewide Prosecution Bureau determined Jumpp faked the document.
Jumpp had eleven pending cases at the Superior Court in New Britain. The two additional Class D felonies had now been filed against him in Hartford while he remains behind bars on a $25,000 bond.
