Connecticut man gets additional charges after faking positive Covid diagnosis to skip court date

A Connecticut man who wanted to avoid a court appearance to reconsider his bond by providing a fake positive Covid diagnosis had now been charged with forgery and fabricating evidence.

Junior Jumpp, 31, sent his attorney a screenshot of a fake Covid diagnosis, just before November 30, the day he was set to appear in New Britain Superior Court.

  • The attorney asked Judge Maureen Keegan to excuse him from the court hearing. A later investigation by the Statewide Prosecution Bureau determined Jumpp faked the document.

    Jumpp had eleven pending cases at the Superior Court in New Britain. The two additional Class D felonies had now been filed against him in Hartford while he remains behind bars on a $25,000 bond.
