Virginia authorities have arrested a man and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of two women found in a vacant lot in Harrisonburg.
The search for Tonita Lorice Smith, a 39-year-old Charlottesville resident, led police to another deceased woman’s body at the same empty lot.
The second victim was identified as 54-year-old Allene Elizabeth “Beth” Redmon. Smith was reported missing on Nov. 17 but was last seen three days earlier.
On Tuesday, Harrisonburg Police charged 35-year-old Anthony Robinson with the women’s murders in addition to concealing, transporting, or altering a dead body.
According to the police, the women have died at different times. Autopsies will determine Smith and Redmon’s official cause of death.
