Authorities in Florida have found a missing boy laying dead next to his bicycle hours after he went missing on Monday evening.

The cause of death for Ryan Rogers has yet to be determined, police said. The 14-year-old was found dead near the sidewalk on Central Boulevard and the I-95 overpass early on Tuesday.

“Ryan had been a part of our soccer program since he was 4 years old,” Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association’s David Craven said of the decedent.

Craven added that Ryan was devoted to soccer and had “started refereeing, which is a wonderful thing for young children.”

He said that he joined the search for the teen along with family and community members.

“We all did get together very early Tuesday morning to start what would be the volunteer search party and sadly, a few hours later, we got the text to stop.”
