An Oklahoma man who was left to care for his girlfriend’s nephew had allegedly forced a sock into the toddler’s mouth then sat on him until he passed out, police said.
21-year-old Demontre Deshawn Rose admitted to killing Nyier Langston after the Oct. 23 incident that left the toddler hospitalized for days before he died.

“I’m surprised that it happened. I didn’t expect it. Nobody expected it,” Rose’s girlfriend Deja Funches said.
The woman’s brother said that she feels guilty for the tot’s murder because she left him with Rose.
“She feels like it’s her fault. But I told her it wasn’t. She’s just as traumatized as us because she feels like she was responsible and that we trusted our son with her.”
