Human remains, belongings found at Myakkahatchee creek where Brian Laundrie abandoned vehicle before disappearance

Brian Laundrie’s parents discovered their missing son’s backpack at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park hours after the park reopened to the public following a month-long closing.

The site later revealed human remains that are being investigated by the Sarasota County medical examiner’s office after the mid-morning grim find.

    Chris and Roberta Laundrie alerted authorities after spotting their fugitive son’s belongings that he had taken with him before going missing for nearly five months.

    The trail where the belongings and human remains were discovered is the same where Laundrie had abandoned his family’s silver Mustang in September before he vanished.
