Virginia couple ‘hog-tied’ grandma, wrapped plastic bag around her head after showing up at victim’s home overnight

Surveillance footage from neighbors’ homes helped authorities name the suspects in an atrocious Danville, Virginia murder that took place last weekend.

Police said that Elizabeth Morris Adkins, 88, died within four hours after her granddaughter and her boyfriend showed up at her home just after midnight last Sunday.

The couple knocked at the victim’s home and a voice was heard saying “It’s Lindsey and Nico. It’s me, your granddaughter.”

  • Lindsey Mae Johnson, 24, and her boyfriend Nicasio Antonio Guzman, 22, were the last people to visit Adkins’ home before she was found dead the following morning.

    The couple called the police at around 10:45 a.m. Sunday to report the murder. Officers found Adkins dead at her home, with her feet and hands tied up and bounded to one another. She also had a plastic bag wrapped over her head.

    “With community assistance from people in the neighborhood, both witnesses and videos and just cooperating with our investigation, we were able to put together evidence to charge them with this homicide,” DPD Captain Steve Richardson said.
