Police departments across Georgia have expressed their sorrow over the death of an on-duty Alamo officer during his first shift with his new department.

26-year-old Dylan Harrison, a married dad of a 6-month-old baby, was shot dead outside the police headquarters at 1:01 a.m. on his first day on the job.

Detectives believe the shooter was Damien Anthony Ferguson, aka Luke Ferguson, a 43-year-old felon who had previously served time for theft and assaulting an officer.
