The husband of a slain Instagram influencer that was found dead along a Houston road late last year had been fatally shot to the head, authorities said Wednesday.
Nearly a year after his 26-year-old Alexis Sharkey was killed; Tom Sharkey’s body was at Fort Myers residence where he stayed with his daughter.
Investigators suspected the 49-year-old as the killer of Alexis after multiple reports of marital issues that insisted the woman was brutally abused and had filed for divorce.
“He was sending really awful, nasty messages to her,” one said. “But one night, when she and I were talking alone she said, ‘He strangles me and chokes me out and I blackout and wake up on the bathroom floor every single time.’”
But Tom insisted he was never abusive to Alexis and even called for the public’s help to find her when she first vanished.
“My world! My everything! I’m so lost right now! My one and only!” Tom posted after Alexis’s death.
