An Alaska man was killed in a freak accident in New England, Massachusetts where he had just arrived to spend his vacation.
69-year-old Thomas Arrington was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on I-95 near Danvers, Massachusetts at around 8:23 a.m. Friday.
Detectives said that a piece of metal, commonly known as a screed, fell from a dump truck right onto Arrington’s rental car, mortally injuring him.
Despite the severe injuries, Arrington managed to veer into another lane and safely stop the car saving the life of a 68-year-old female passenger that was traveling with him.
Cops later determined that the screed was carried by a 2020 Ford F550 dump truck driven by a 21-year-old employee of a Massachusetts company.
