Sacramento news, California news.

With the majority of ballots counted, Gavin Newsom won the recall election in California and will, therefore, remain the Golden State’s Governor until November 2022, beating a strong bid to kick him out from office.

Late Tuesday, official reports showed that Newsom was ahead by 32 points with 66% of voters favoring his leadership and 34% wishing his removal.

“I think about just in the last few days, the former president put out saying this election was rigged,” a victorious Newsom told crowds in Sacramento.
