4 killed in Connecticut after plane crashed into building: ‘It descended out of control’

Officials confirmed Friday that four people have died when a plane crashed into the side of a building in Farmington, Connecticut.

The deceased were two pilots and two passengers. Two pedestrians sustained injuries in the crash.

“At this time, all employees who were inside the affected building have been accounted for with two injuries reported,” the building’s owner said.

“Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.”

  • The collision occurred just after 10 a.m. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a big explosion and seeing heavy dark smoke.

    “The top of that pole was how close we were to the plane. In fact, I could see people in the plane,” a witness said.

    “Instead of the plane being a takeoff angle like this, the rear end was more like this, more predominantly down compared to the nose of the aircraft.”

    “It started to really descend out of control. It was not a consistent whirring or noise. It was a little bit more erratic.”

    The plane was reportedly heading to the Dare County Regional Airport in North Carolina.
