Marin County news, California news.

According to the CDC, an unvaccinated California teacher caused half of their students to test positive for Covid-19 last spring.

The teacher would reportedly read to the 24 students indoors without wearing a face mask leading to the infection of 12 kids, with eight suffering symptoms.

“Marin County Department of Public Health was notified by an elementary school that on May 23, an unvaccinated teacher had reported receiving a positive test result for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19,” the Friday report read.

The infected children were seated in the two first rows and were closer to the teacher. All infections involved the deadly Dealt variant of the virus.

“This outbreak of Covid-19 that originated with an unvaccinated teacher highlights the importance of vaccinating school staff members who are in close indoor contact with children ineligible for vaccination as schools reopen,” the report concluded.
