Air Force officials announced Tuesday that human remains were found in the wheel well of the US Military Aircraft depicted on videos leaving Kabul International Airport as civilians clung to it.
The same tragic videos showed Afghans hopelessly clamoring to get on board the C-17 Globemaster aircraft Monday with many of them falling to the ground as it took off.
The remains were discovered when the plane reached Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and an inspection of the engine has been conducted.
The C-17 Globemaster plane had arrived at Hamid Karzai International Airport to deliver loads of equipment and to assist in the evacuations.
But once there, it was surrounded by scores of Afghans who had trespassed to the airport perimeter and breached the runway, leading the crew to depart without even offloading the cargo.
