McConnell urges Biden administration to intervene in Afghanistan crisis, launch airstrikes against Taliban

As more territory falls to the Taliban, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urged the Biden administration to carry out airstrikes against the militants that are taking advantage of the US forces’ withdrawal.

“It is not too late to prevent the Taliban from overrunning Kabul,” McConnell said in a statement.

    “If they fail to do so, the security threat to the United States will assuredly grow and the humanitarian cost to innocent Afghans will be catastrophic,” he added.
