A Florida woman is behind bars seven years after she fatally shot her brother and buried his remains in the backyard of a Dania Beach home, police said.
Broward County Sheriff’s investigators were alerted to Donald Marks Shoff’s murder earlier this summer when they received a tip about his sister Darlene Ann Shoff-Brock’s involvement in his disappearance.
Detectives searched Shoff-Brock’s Dania Beach residence and found human remains that were positively identified as her brother’s.
The man had been killed in Hollywood in 2014 then transported to the Dania Beach home where he’d been buried.
When questioned over her missing brother’s whereabouts, Shoff-Brock said that he was out of the country adding to investigators’ suspicions.
Witnesses said that the siblings would often argue about money with the Shoff accusing his sister of robbery.
