Maryland officers discover 2 dead children in car trunk during traffic stop

Baltimore County Police are investigating after the bodies of two small children were discovered inside the trunk of a car during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

The car was labeled as suspicious and being sought by authorities when it was pulled over at around 11 p.m. near the Black River and Wagners Lane.

They were later identified as 7-year-old Joshlyn Johnson and 5-year-old Larry O’Neil. They were siblings.

  • The driver of the car was identified as the children’s aunt. Nicole Johnson, 33, was arrested and charged with first-degree child abuse resulting in the death of a child.

    “The entire Baltimore County Police Department grieves with the community over the unspeakable deaths of two innocent children,” Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said.

    “The investigation into his atrocious crime will not stop until those responsible are brought to justice.”

    “Our detectives have a great deal of evidence they’re going through at this point,” police spokeswoman Joy Stewart said.
