Missouri City man incriminates wife after she ‘accidentally’ shot him before passing away

Missouri City Police said that a 43-year-old woman was taken into custody after fatally shooting her husband and claiming it was accidental.

Capt. Paul Poulton said that Jacqueline Thomas called 911 Tuesday at around 2:30 a.m. to report an accidental shooting at her home on the 1000 block of Americana Drive.

Officers arrived at the scene to find an agonizing Eugene Liger, Thomas’ husband.

  • “At the scene, he was still conscious and alert enough to give a statement that was inconsistent with his wife’s statement,” Poulton said.

    “It did not even closely match his wife’s comments.”

    The victim died shortly later at a local hospital. Thomas was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County prison on murder suspicion.
