Missouri City Police said that a 43-year-old woman was taken into custody after fatally shooting her husband and claiming it was accidental.
Capt. Paul Poulton said that Jacqueline Thomas called 911 Tuesday at around 2:30 a.m. to report an accidental shooting at her home on the 1000 block of Americana Drive.
Officers arrived at the scene to find an agonizing Eugene Liger, Thomas’ husband.
“At the scene, he was still conscious and alert enough to give a statement that was inconsistent with his wife’s statement,” Poulton said.
“It did not even closely match his wife’s comments.”
The victim died shortly later at a local hospital. Thomas was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County prison on murder suspicion.
