A Mississippi man has killed another on July 7 after they argued over Bible scripture, Authorities said.
Sherrod Alexander Laffitte, 32, was strangled to death at his Dogwood Extension home, in Missouri County of Wayne.
The 41-year-old suspect, later identified as Samuel McDougle, fled the scene temporarily before he surrendered that same night.
Police said that the preliminary investigation suggests a fistfight erupted between the two men over Bible verses.
Autopsy results confirmed Laffitte’s cause of death as strangulation. McDougle has been charged with second-degree murder with his bond set at $1 million.
