Citing ‘security investigation’; Fort Lauderdale airport evacuated

Part of Fort Lauderdale Airport had been evacuated Saturday morning and passengers were asked to deplane amid “bomb threats” that triggered a “security investigation.

Terminals 2 and 3 were subject to the evacuation order as officials dealt with major traffic issues at the heavily frequented airport.

“UPDATE: Travel Alert: A security investigation is impacting traffic along the upper-level roadway of FLL at Terminals 2& 3,” the airport tweeted at 10 a.m.

    Flights involved included Delta Airlines, American Airlines, Jet Blue, and Spirit.

    Passengers waiting outside the airport reported spotting police cruisers, ambulances, and K-9 units.
