Texas girl, 10, pretended being fatally shot as suspect slaughtered family

Texas authorities said that a 10-year-old girl had escaped death after she played dead while a gunman slaughtered her parents and younger sister Wednesday.

The survivor told police that at around 10:30 p.m., a man in his 20s with a surgical mask knocked on the family’s door and opened fire at people inside.

Gregory Carhee, 35; his pregnant wife Donyavia Lagway, 29; and 6-year-old Harmony Carhee were all shot in the head and killed.

    “She FaceTimed her grandmother…showed her everything. Then her grandmother called 911,” a relative said.

    Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Patty Cantu said that they are currently looking for a suspect.

    “This is a very, very tragic scene. We’re sending out prayers to the family. This was a very difficult scene not only for us, the officers, but the family as well. So we’re sending our prayers and hopes that anybody has any information.”
