UPDATE: Mom and daughter found dead in upscale Connecticut residence were murder-suicide victims

Connecticut authorities said Friday that the mom and child found dead in a ritzy Westport residence were murder-suicide victims and that the mother was the perpetrator.

46-year-old Tracy Do reportedly drowned her daughter Layla Malon, 7, Thursday afternoon before she stabbed herself several times.

The Medical Examiner’s report indicated that Do died from self-inflicted “sharp-force injuries of torso and extremities.”

  • The woman had been involved in a fierce custody battle of her daughter with her ex-husband Eric Malon, who is the owner of the $1.5M mansion where the tragic incident occurred.

    In addition to Layla, the couple had a teenage child. For months, Malon continued to file lawsuits against his former wife to make her leave the house.

    “In or around 2017, the romantic relationship between the parties terminated,” a court filing indicated.

    “Despite the Plaintiff’s continued requests that the Defendant vacate the Premises, the Defendant continues to use, occupy, and trespass upon the Premises.”
