President Biden offered British Prime Minister Boris Johnson an American-made touring bicycle highlighting their mutual passion for cycling.
The custom-made bike was “a gesture of friendship and in recognition of their shared interest” in riding bicycles.
Back when he was London mayor, Boris used to regularly ride his bike to and from work. Same for Bien, who just last week went on a bicycle ride with First Lady Jill Biden celebrating her birthday.
The US President’s gift to Johnson is blue and red with white features. It has both leaders’ signatures and country flags. Johnson chose to gift Biden a Frederick Douglass mural’s photograph.
The meeting comes amid Biden’s first overseas trip since his inauguration as he takes part in the G7 summit that wraps up Sunday.
