A Minnesota mother off her medication has brutally beaten two of her small children, leaving one laying in a pool of her own blood in the street.
Residents of the Lake View Alcove neighborhood called police Wednesday to report that a woman was chasing kids down the street.
Once there, officers arrested Sadiyo Ibrahim Mohammed as she mumbled Somali sentences. Nearby, the body of a 6-year-old girl lied unresponsive and a screaming boy held his fractured arm.
Authorities said that the girl is not expected to survive after suffering several brain hemorrhages, liver lacerations, and broken ribs.
“It is a horrible tragedy and, unfortunately, this mother is responsible for causing this horrible tragedy t her own children,” a Washington County official said.
“The surviving children will obviously be impacted for the rest of their lives and are potentially going to lose their sister. We will be doing everything we can to hold her accountable.”
The mom claimed that she “wasn’t sure if her kids were a devil or a demon, which made her question if she should hurt them or not.”
She also told detectives that she had cut off her medication for bipolar disorder. Investigators believe she used a “metal cylinder object” to beat the kids.
