Family of Lamborghini crash victim wants spoiled teen suspect gone to ‘jail for years’

Los Angeles news, California news.

The 17-year-old suspect who was behind the wheel of a lavish Lamborghini when he fatally hit a 32-year-old woman’s vehicle admitted Friday the charges against him.

Monique Munoz’s family expressed frustration over the slow handling of the case and how the son of a multimillionaire California entrepreneur was not charged as an adult after the February 17 fatal crash.

“We know that there’s a process and that has to happen and we are letting that happen,” Munoz’s cousin said. “We just want justice. We want there to be appropriate charges that reflect that there was a life that was taken.”

Prosecutors alleged that the teen had been arrested that same day for speeding in city streets before crashing into the medical assistant’s car as she headed home from her work at UCLA’s Beverly Hills.

“He is extremely remorseful and has admitted the juvenile petition in order to demonstrate his remorse and his willingness to access the consequences of his actions,” his lawyer told the judge.

James Khuri, the teen’s dad, said back in March that his son also sustained brain injuries and is ready to support Munoz’s family in any way.

But the victim’s mom called his sympathies “too fake”: “He has yet to say anything to me, to us. If he were really sorry, he would have reached out when it all happened.”

Uncle Richard Cartier added: “What we want, we want him to go to prison and understand the consequences of his doing. I want his father to feel his son gone for years because Monique is gone for life.”
