Los Angeles news, California news.

A promising Basketball shooting guard who played for the University of Kentucky had passed away in a tragic car crash at only 19 years old.

Rising star Terrence Clarke’s life was cut short Thursday when his car collided with a truck in Los Angeles. Police believe Clarke had run a red light and was traveling at high speed prior to the crash.

After playing eight games during the 2020 season, Clarke entered the NBA draft despite sustaining a leg injury. He averaged 9.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.

The Boston, Mass. native was among Kentucky’s best scorers before being sidelined for weeks by the injury. But even with that, he still managed to post three assists and two points off the bench for the Wildcats against Mississippi.

The skills of the Boston kid were known to the Celtics’ Coach Brad Stevens and even the younger Stevens.

“Not sure how much I want to talk about the game when you consider he’s a Boston kid… those kids are important to us here,” Stevens said of Clarke just after beating the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

“I never met him. My son looks up to him. Hard to talk about a basketball game.”
