Pentagon security officer charged with 2nd- degree murder after fatally shooting 2 people while off-duty

A Pentagon Force Protection Agency Police officer has been arrested and charged after fatally shooting two people while off-duty on Wednesday.

David Hall Dixon told responding officers that he shot Dominique Williams and James Lionel Johnson, ages 32 and 38, because he thought they were trying to steal a car.

Dixon added that he “engaged the suspects who failed to follow his direction” and tried to escape, prompting him to “discharge his service weapon.”

    A third man believed to be the vehicle’s driver was also shot.

    Both men were pronounced dead at a local hospital at around 6 a.m.

    Dixon was charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and reckless endangerment as the investigation continues.
